Buga -- Salento

i finally took that bus and don't feel a bit bad for it, and its relieving to have finally broken the ice. the 100-km to Armenia would have taken the better part of a day on the bike but it took just 1-hour. and the bus! i'm still accustomed to the buses of asia and so was shocked: i hopped a micro bus/macro van, my bike under the back seats, and it was comfortable, smooth, clean, and i had a cozy reclining chair. i can't remember the last time i could actually write on a 3rd world bus. colombia isn't quite 3rd world, by the way... developing yes, but the infrastructure here is well maintained and i think you'd be as surprised as i am.

checked out Armenia, found my first espresso here in Cafetera, and got a shoe shine. headed out towards Salento and made it an easy day on the bike despite the two steep climbs of about 5k each.

Stats: 42-km, 2:30-hrs. Buga @ 3500', Armenia @ 5500', Salento @ 6750'.
